The Islamic Republic of Iran is recognized as an important scientific partner internationally.

The government has committed to the development of cancer registration through funding and training. Expertise in cancer registration at the Cancer Research Center and in several of the cancer registries provides opportunities for continued development in the near future.

The Islamic Republic of Iran IARC GICR Collaborating Centre will focus on training to build capacity in cancer registration, conducting monitoring and evaluation of population-based cancer registries, mentorship of selected countries to receive practical guidance, and research.
