The IARC Pacific Islands Hub for Cancer Registration is currently being implemented with regional partners. The Hub aims to build capacity for cancer registration in Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.
The Hub covers the following countries and territories: in Melanesia (Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu); in Micronesia (Kiribati and Nauru); and in Polynesia (Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, and Tonga).
Operating within the overall framework of the GICR, the IARC Pacific Regional Hub is a partnership between IARC, the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office Division of Pacific Technical Support (WPRO DPS), the Pacific Community, and other regional organizations.
Each of these groups supports capacity-building for cancer registration in the region under the GICR.
